The master plan for Playa Conchal Resort ensures privacy and serenity for all residents with a commitment to also preserve the natural environment and rural character of Costa Rica. A small “boutique” hotel will be built on the point of the peninsula, an ideal place to view the magnificent sunsets. Custom single family homes, featuring traditional Costa Rican architecture, derived from colonial Spanish models, are planned at the foot of the peninsula. There will be trails where residents can enjoy the spectacular vistas of the Pacific Ocean. Three other hotels along with an exclusive beach club and beach village with commercial shops are planned near Playa Conchal, considered the finest white sandy beach in Costa Rica. Nearby will be a large lake that will offer many water-front lots for homes and a 9-hole executive golf course. An Active Adult Community, featuring a second 18-hole golf course winding throughout custom home sites like many you see back in the U.S., is also part of the master plan. There will be a multi-functional community center located at the main entrance, which will serve as the gathering spot for recreational and social activities for our residents. The entire community will be linked by roadways, bicycle and pedestrian networks, but only a small number of full-sized autos will be allowed. Residents will find it easier to get around in smaller efficient electric vehicles. Trolleys will be available to ferry visitors around the different facilities.
Playa Conchal is located in the Guanacaste Province of Costa Rica on the northern Pacific Coast, just minutes away form the touristic beach towns of Flamingo and Tamarindo. The site is accessible by air travel from San Jose to the Tamarindo airport, a 10-minute drive from the southwest. The Daniel Oduber International Airport in the city of Liberia to the east is a 45-minute drive. It takes approximately 3 to 4 hours of a beautiful scenic drive to the property from the capital city of San Jose.
The 2300-acre (930 hectare) property feature more
than 5,000-yards of coastline accentuated by a rocky peninsula with
steep undulating topography. A white sandy beach approximately 2,500
yards long, offers magnificent views of the coastline and is one of the
site’s primary attributes. A steep ridge over 130 yards above sea level,
extends east-west through the central part of the property and virtually
divides it equally. The northern slope of this ridge offers spectacular
ocean views over the existing All suite Melia Playa Conchal hotel-resort
and Garra de Leon Golf Course, which occupy approximately 10% of the
